The Laws of Physics And Movement
Our body and the world around us is subject to the ultimate laws of physics. We may not understand all of them fully yet, but they are there. And they do not lie. Our body can be thriving in harmony when using physics laws to our advantage or will be gradually losing its battle when fighting against them.

Understanding physics principles will give us the deepest WHY. Why my body is shaped  this way? Why I am experiencing what I am feeling?  Applying physics in movement will transform our awareness and help improve our health day by day.

We are not a body – we have a body. Our physical body is a vehicle and a toolbox. We have multiple tools at our disposal -levers, pulleys, combination of anchor points, air compression.  This is all in addition to the energy generated by our physiology and muscle contraction (ATP), air compression or electrical system.   In addition to electrical wires, our body contains limitless wireless networks to connect too.

Human Consciousness, Neuroplasticity and Movement
Understanding Human Brain is one of two greatest mysteries in science,
The other mystery that we don't fully understand yet. is our outer space - 'What actually happened before the world has been created?'

With our 'Inner space' - Human brain and consciousness - we are only starting to learn what actually happens inside our brain and in our mind.

- How do we communicate with ourselves and our bodies.
- How do we communicate with others
- How do we help others to reconnect with themselves (especially when working within health and wellbeing sector)

Limbic Brain, Movement and The Missing Links
in Current Fitness And Health Care Industry
When it comes to sport and any movement coaching, there are 2 fundamental flaws in existing training methods within fitness and health industry.

1. We don't speak the language the body uses to communicate with the environment

2 We are not being taught physics - and how to apply the physics laws in movement. If we look at the combined human anatomy, physiology and movement through the lense of physics, we will see that a number of commonly taught basic exercises widely implemented in fitness and/or rehabilitation industry, can be vastly improved, minimising the risk of injuries, and providing faster and longer lasting benefits.  This approach can be applied in preventative application (fitness) and rehabilitation (Health)
Two Fundamental Flaws in Fitness and Health Industry
Human movement is directly linked to our emotional brain consisting of limbic and reptile brain - developed mainly by the age of 6, but continues to evolve in response to experiences and emotions.  It maps relations between the body and surroundings, responds to sensory information about outside 'what is happening to me'?

It monitors the danger, controls energy level, breathing, endocrine and immune system, assesses what's vital or not for survival. The cellular organisation and biochemistry are simpler than neocortex.

Cerebellum is responsible for learning plus fine motor movement - it contains 30% brain mass but 70% brains neurons.

The senses are typically being sent via 2 pathways - 1. amygdala (down to limbic) and 2. frontal lobes for conscious awareness.  This pathway is slower - it takes few milliseconds longer.

If we instruct a person using only neocortex language, we assume that the connection between the brain and motor skills have been fully developed and there is no disturbance via amygdala alarm system This is not often the case.  Often due to an injury, past or present trauma, interference in early development stage relating to movement , the connection is not there and the body feels lost.

The communication pathway via neocortex can be compared to giving instructions in a foreign language which the body needs to translate. before acting on it.
If we provide the context in feelings, we communicate with limbic brain allowing to tone down amygdala and regulate ANS via movement. This approach is often used in yoga, meditation, breathing exercises and mindfulness,

Providing movement Instructions however via 3 independent pathways can unleash the power of Neuroplasticity and facilitates change faster.
We cannot separate the forces that exist outside of our body from our body. Same forces that shape the universe apply to each single cell in our body. From simple tools as levers and pulleys to metaphysics and magnetic field of  human consciousness.

To make a simple graphical representation of human physiology through the lense of physics, a layman’s representation can be shown as a plant growing in a pot. This image communicates with our limbic brain and can be easily understood by a child.
Human as a Plant.png
Copyright @ Back to Balance
Our torso (core) is pictured as a heavy pot filled with soil – organic matter providing all necessary nutrients for the plant to grow. The stem runs from the surface of the soil (heart and diaphragm) to the head (the flower), turning onto strong root system reaching down to the saucer (lumbar and pelvic region). The leaves with direct access to the light (the lungs) generate oxygen allowing the plant to thrive and produce wonderful bloom. Heavy and stable pot provides stability for the entire plant with the room to grow. If more is needed, the lateral long roots can overflow to deeper ground (the legs via sciatic nerve)
To move the pot and not damage the plant, we should hold it at the base with the saucer or at the upper part of the pot.
If we try to move it by holding by the flower or the stem, we can rip the plant off and the plant can die.

If we pull the stem closer to the roots and the stem is strong (tight thoracic), we will disturb the root system, especially at the base (lumbar, pelvic region, sciatic nerve impingement)

Other Mechanical Advantage 'Tools' Available
Muscles also work as compound pulley system with multiple ropes and movable anchor points allowing effortless movement
Muscles as pulleys.png
Picture below - the model of balanced myofascial lines to support effortless movement
human load pulley lines.png
Our muscles don't work in isolation. They are connected throughout the body as a network of pathways and highways, making it easier or harder for the body to move. Just like choosing more efficient route and transport means when planning a trip, we can choose a highway or walk through the bushes. We can walk next to the highway, or we can catch a free bus which travels in the highest gear on a bus lane. Our body is similar - we can choose to move our leg anchoring it to the neck and straining the joints along the way, or we can choose the highway with free bus, lifting it using the core with no effort whatsoever.  Those alternate, bypassing the core pathways, work as redundancy systems (for instance if we get injured), but relying on them long term will lead to troubles.

Air Cylinder, Tension and A Pulley.png
Air cylinder (pelvic floor - diaphragm piston)  connected to a lever (lats with hips), drive a pulley (psoas) for applying belt tension.  An air cylinder uses compressed air to push or pull a piston, which is connected to a lever. As the lever moves, it rotates a pulley, which then applies tension to the belt. This tension can be adjusted by controlling the amount of air pressure in the cylinder.

Compressed air can completely  reduce the tension on psoas. The lats work as a lever and movable anchor, the coccyx bone assists to change direction of compressed air, redirecting it to the diaphragm, making the movement of lifting the leg effortless.  The glutes and iliacus will only assist to stabilise the hip in the socket, rather than taking the full load as anchor point to stabilise and move the entire leg.
Understanding Anchor Points
An anchor point by definition is a fixed point of support, used to secure or stabilize another object or structure. Understanding the forces acting on an anchor point is crucial for ensuring the stability and safety of any structure that is supported by it. It can also help to prevent damage or failure of the anchor point itself.
Understanding Anchor Points .png
Using neck and shoulders as our body’s anchor points destabilises the entire system – not only biomechanically but also emotionally and biochemically. We wouldn’t lift a baby holding by their body by their necks, would we? To lift a baby, we hold their body under the arms around the ribcage and/or the base of the pelvis (sacrum or sit bones) supporting their neck until they can hold the head upright by themselves. As adults, why do we do it to ourselves?
Understanding Vectors and Internal Angles

Below Vector Force Chart displays the forces applied to each anchor point when the load is equally shared. In physics, 45 degree internal angle is the most efficient. The angles need to be maintained accordingly to mitigate excessive load on applicable anchor points (hip and shoulder level)

If we use ilium bones/ glutes as primary anchor point in our body without lats/obliques/diaphragm power ring,  it can create close to 175  angle resulting in 10 fold increase  on lumbar spine.

Similar load applies to our shoulders/neck if we use them as primary anchor point resulting in stress on C3-C5 vertebra (disturbed diaphragm function), and/or  shoulder injuries.

Vector Force Chart.png
With the internal angle of 45° , 54% of the load is being distributed to each anchor point.
90° angle - The 'OK' Angle - 71% weight share
120° and above angle  -dramatically  increase the load 175° - 575%
